Invitation to the 2017 Global Forum on Mechanical Engineering

The Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Future of Mechanical Engineering, the Machinery 4.0

It is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2017 Global Forum on Mechanical Engineering in Seoul, Korea on November 9th, organized by the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) and the National Assembly of Korea.

KIMM is a national research institute in Korea that is sponsored by the Ministry of Science & ICT and has been contributing to the development of Korean industry and mechanical technology. KIMM first organized the Forum in 2014 with the goal of offering excellent and fruitful opportunities to exchange experiences and to set up new directions for R&DB in mechanical engineering.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has begun, and the world is facing tremendous challenges. Efforts have been made in various fields to increase the efficiency and productivity of each sector of the world economy. At the forefront of the national R&D efforts for next-generation technology, KIMM has always sought to contribute to the well-being of humanity by developing and commercializing cutting-edge technologies. In this regard, our outstanding speakers will share their expertise to accelerate potential achievement through innovation and challenge in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The one-day Forum will feature outstanding presentations and open discussions by renowned speakers from industry and research institution around the world on new initiatives, action plans, and best practices concerning spearheading technological advances in the field of mechanical engineering in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, in particular for Manufacturing Industry, Transportation, Medical Engineering, as well as Energy/Environment.
